ZenoLive and Digicel team up to find the next big Haitian Radio Star.
ZenoLive, the largest platform for talk radio broadcasts for US diaspora communities, and Digicel, the leading mobile carrier in Haiti, announced today the launch of the Haitian Talk Radio Star Competition.
“We are excited to see what kind of new voices are discovered by this contest,” said Morris Berger, CEO of ZenoLive. “Currently we have over 200 Creole broadcasters reaching Haitians at home and in the US, who are creating some of the most vibrant and exciting content on our global network.
The winners of this contest will no doubt become a key part of our broadcasting community.”
“Digicel is always looking for new ways to connect and engage people in Haiti and around the world,” said Bertrand Florville, Diaspora Head of Territory Manager at Digicel. “We are proud to partner with ZenoLive in this competition, which will help talented Haitians get the access and attention they deserve on a worldwide stage.”
The competition, with a top prize of $5,000 and a regular broadcast slot on ScoopFM, one of top Haitian radio stations, is open to all Creole speakers, whether in Haiti or the diaspora. Competition categories include sports, religion, politics, lifestyle, current events and comedy. Powered by the ZenoLive global digital audio platform and Digicel, the competition allows aspiring hosts to upload or record a sample show to HaitianRadioStar.com. The format is similar to global “Idol” programs, in which the initial submissions are judged by industry experts, with the ultimate winner chosen by listeners.
