The 11th season of TV One’s critically acclaimed series “Unsung” will debut tonight with a double premiere, featuring rapper Wyclef Jean and R&B hitmakers Jagged Edge.
Clef’s episode will delve into his life in Haiti, his membership as a member of multi-platinum group The Fugees, the group’s breakup, running for Haiti president and the rapper/musician’s rise to fame as a solo artist and producer. This is the first time Clef has been featured in a documentary about his life, and it is revealing of how far he’s come: from literally eating the red-clay dirt in Haiti to immigrating to America at 10 years of age and living in the projects in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Clef new album, Carnival Vol. III: The Rise and Fall of a Refugee is due out in September.
Jagged Edge’s episode will examine the R&B group’s rise to fame in the early 2000’s and their contentious split with Jermaine Dupri. Here is the line up of all the new episodes:
