Our video of the day is courtesy of Run Across Haiti.

In 2015, Tassy Fils-Aime became the first Haitian to run the entire length of his home country. In completing the grueling run, Tassy and a small team proved the feat was possible — opening it up to the public for 2016.

The Run Across Haiti is an annual ultra-marathon to raise funds to support our work in ending extreme poverty through good, dignified jobs. We run to show the world that Haiti is not a place to be feared, not a place to be pitied, and not a place to forget. It’s one of the hardest adventure runs in the world, and we’re pretty proud of that. – Source

The video Further tells the story of the first organized, 240-mile ultra-marathon traversing the entire length of Haiti — home to some the most chaotic and congested streets on Earth. Many of the 20 runners attempting the massive run had never completed an ultra of this length, let alone in conditions as brutal as ones they’d face in Haiti.
