Just finished our interview with @carelpedre at 90.1 (Radio 1) the BIGGEST radio station in all of Haiti, on @chokarella, the top rated morning show! God is working and he sent me two angels! HUGEEEE THANK YOU to @corlyce & @gracethemartyr
A couple of weeks ago, one of my longtime friends contacted me about wanting to visit to Haiti about doing research for a new project he wanted to start working on. Knowing how passionate this young man is about everything he ventures in, I was excited about helping him connect with a few people I knew would be of great assistance on his first trip to Haiti.
Here are a few of Mackey’s pictures from him Instagram page and the story behind each of his snapshots. Stay posted to L’union Suite for more updates on Mackey trip and Adverb Global organization..
When I saw this little girl at @corlyce’s school, my WHOLE heart melted! Wow! Her beauty and innocence touched my soul! I am going to try and keep up with her progress, there is something very special about her! #Delmas31 #PortAuPrince #Haiti @countriesunited4haiti || @adverbglobal
Knowing that an idea that I had may positively effect the lives of these children (and others like them) gives life a little more meaning. God is with me, I feel him! #CiteSoleil #PortAuPrince #Haiti
@gracethemartyr stopped to buy some mangoes from this woman in #CiteSoleil. When she saw my camera, she started posing! Lol #PortAuPrince #Haiti @adverbglobal
This photo is more fate than skill (on my part). It was caught at just the right moment. You can’t see it on IG, but these little girls are running through sewage. Just outside the viewable area of this IG post, there is a puddle of brownish green water. Proper waste water drainage systems are a HUGE problem here. The smell, with the heat, was pretty bad. #PortAuPrince #Haiti @adverbglobal
For a lot of people in Haiti, THIS is how their drinking water is distributed…in a little plastic pouch. It’s amazing to think of how valuable water is here, and how much is wasted in America. As a black person in America, one major complaint is “white privilege”… Well, let me introduce you to AMERICAN privilege… It’s 10x worse! It’s REAL out here! Sheesh! #Haiti #PortAuPrince @adverbglobal
