On Tuesday, Haitian producer @MichaelBrun shared the heartbreaking news of his beloved mother, Sharon Andrea Lee-Brun, 's passing with a heartfelt tribute on social media. Sharon, who touched the lives of many in the community, was known for her warmth, strength, and boundless love. ⁠

In 2021, Michael bravely shared that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer. The family kept us updated throughout her treatment, celebrating Sharon's strength as she completed her treatment and returned to good health. Sharon’s recovery brought joy to all who knew her. We were delighted to continue dancing with her at recent Bayo Tour stops. She had become a beloved figure in the community, especially cherished for her culinary talents.⁠

Sharon was born in Georgetown, Guyana, and moved to Haiti in 1990 after marrying her Haitian husband, Patrick. Over the 27 years she spent in #Haiti, Sharon embraced her adopted country’s culture and people, making it her home. She established deep roots in Haiti, owning a home and garden store in #PortauPrince for over 25 years and becoming a food and lifestyle blogger. Her blog bridged the cultures of her native Guyana and adopted Haiti, showcasing her love for both nations through food and personal stories.⁠
⁠
Sharon profoundly loves and respects nature and is passionate about the environment and its preservation. She has been involved in a reforestation project in the hills of Belot. For over 18 years, she and her husband have transformed a barren area with over 10,000 trees into a farm that grows fruit, vegetables, horses, and other animals.⁠

Sharon’s love for her family was unconditional, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration. Michael’s tribute sums it up perfectly: “From the highest highs to the lowest lows, I will cherish every moment we ever spent together in this lifetime. Every meal, every song, every smile, and every tear. We celebrated life every chance we could. I am truly blessed to have called you mom. Love you always.”⁠
