In a post shared on her mother’s X account on Saturday, Abigale Love revealed that Mia’s condition has deteriorated, and she is no longer responding to treatment. The family has made the difficult decision to prioritize keeping Mia comfortable during this challenging time.⁠

"Sadly, her cancer is no longer responding to treatment, and the cancer is progressing," Abigale Love wrote. Mia Love, who was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer (GBM) in 2022, had previously shared her journey with the public, offering a message of hope to others battling similar conditions.⁠

Diagnosed with GBM, a highly aggressive brain cancer, Love faced a prognosis of just 10-15 months to live. Typically, patients diagnosed with GBM have a life expectancy of 18 months to two years, with a survival rate of only 10% after five years, according to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Despite these odds, Love remained hopeful, using her faith and family as pillars of strength.⁠

In a May 2023 interview with CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” Love shared her diagnosis and her commitment to continuing the fight with both faith and science. "Whether you are facing a cancer diagnosis yourself, or fighting a different battle, there is hope! For me, that hope comes from my faith and my family. Both have been a source of immeasurable strength, peace, love, and support," she said in a Facebook post last year.⁠

Love, 49, served Utah’s 4th Congressional District from 2015 to 2019 before transitioning to roles as a CNN political commentator and a rotating guest on ABC’s #TheView. Her bravery and resilience have continued to inspire many, including Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who sent well wishes on social media. ⁠

A video featuring Jimmy “Barbecue” Chérizier surfaced over the weekend, refuting widespread but unverified reports of his death or injury following a major government-led security operation targeting gangs in #BasDelmas. The footage, released Saturday night, directly contradicts claims that the leader of the powerful G9 Family had been wounded in the operation.
The operation, confirmed by #Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, was part of a renewed effort by security forces to reclaim control of areas long dominated by armed gangs.
“The Task Force created by the government and the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), in less than 48 hours, is already yielding results,” Fils-Aimé announced on the social media platform X. “A large-scale operation is underway in Bas-Delmas, and several gang members have already been neutralized. Security forces are mobilized, and a state of readiness has been declared.”
He added: “The state will not give in to terror. #Haitian people, keep hope: the government stands with you in these difficult times. The fight against gangs is advancing. #Haiti will take control of its destiny! The #PNH is going on the offensive against armed gangs.”
In the aftermath, speculation quickly spread that Chérizier had been seriously injured or even killed during the offensive.
Yet, Chérizier himself swiftly moved to quash these rumors. In a two-minute video statement, the gang leader, dressed in black, dismissed reports of his injury, stating, “I am alive. I will now explain to you how the battle will end.”
He also claimed that security forces had used explosive drones in an attempt to assassinate him. “Explosive drones were used to target me,” he alleged. “I can now use explosive drones to reach anyone in the country,” he warned, implying that he had access to the same technology as the Haitian security forces.
Chérizier, a former police officer-turned-warlord, leads the G9 Family and Allies gang federation, a powerful criminal alliance that has maintained a stranglehold over large parts of #PortauPrince. Despite international sanctions and arrest warrants, Chérizier has continued to evade capture.

#HaitiNews - In a recent escalation of violence in Haiti, Inspector General Vladimir Paraison, head of the National Palace security, was shot in the leg while attempting to rescue police officers during a gang attack near the Port-au-Prince Police Station. Despite his injury, Paraison has continued to lead, providing instructions to his team from his hospital bed.
Since Saturday, Paraison has been actively defending key locations, including the National Palace and Fort National, from ongoing gang assaults. The situation in Haiti remains tense, with gangs now targeting Mirebalais and Saut d’Eau (Sodo), critical commercial routes into the capital.
In September 2023, these regions experienced significant violence, leading to substantial population displacements. Gang attacks in Saut d’Eau and Mirebalais resulted in at least 30 deaths and over 800 families fleeing their homes. The University Hospital of Mirebalais was also attacked, with armed gangs opening fire inside the facility, causing terror among patients and staff.
