It seem like everyone in Hollywood is either breaking up or filing for divorce.
After three years of public displays of affection and gushing all over each other, lovey dovey pop star couple Jason Derulo and Jordin sparks have called it quits. As soon as the news broke of their breakup, infidelity, cheating and deceit were at the top of the list of reasons the couple was calling it quits but according to E! Online, the couple described their breakup as mutual and will remain friends.
Jordin took to Twitter Friday and post this sad, but sweet message:
And as for Jason, he confirmed in an interview with KDWB radio that the breakup was pretty amicable.
“Everything is cool man,” he said, choosing not to divulge any further details. “I mean, it’s not a bad situation. You know, it’s not one of those kinds of things.”
Later in the evening as the cheating and infidelity rumors started running rampant , Jason posted this message on his instagram page:
On Monday September 29th, I guess the rumors and gossip had taken a toll on the couple, because they both decided to answer questions about their break up during two separate guest appearances. Jason appeared on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” admitted that marriage pressures contributed to the couple’s decision to part ways while Jordin sat with the Today Show and explained she is doing fine and moving on.
According to Huffingtonpost Jason explained to Ryan,
“What happened … in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons,” he said. “Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy.” “Due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment,” Derulo told ABC.
“I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met.” “But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up,” he continued. “And I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives.

Although he did write a song called “Marry Me” and Jordin even starred in its music video, becoming husband and wife wasn’t something he was 100 percent about at this point … yet Jordin has been for some time.
“Yeah, and to be fair, it was not just from her either,” he clarifies. “It was kind of from everybody. That’s not the sole reason, but it definitely played a part.”
On whether or not he will continue to perform songs like marry me,
“I think it will be tough to perform a lot of different songs, but maybe it will be special in a different way,” he explains. “That was a huge time in my life. It doesn’t go away. Those times in my life when I felt like that, I really did feel like that. A song like ‘Vertigo,’ that was a duet, I think it’s important for me to address the situation. I’m not going to not perform the song.”
Jason also says that their busy schedules kept them apart so much, and it was especially tough on Jordin.
“It weighed on the both of us. We think it may have weighed on her more than it weighed on me. Yeah, she got frustrated a lot. She was in that frustrated space a lot and I think part of that was part of my problem. There’s different stories, like me just having too much going on right now, but it’s a combination of a lot of things. No, there was no infidelity.” “Three years … very long time. I think sometimes you can be in a relationship so long, it becomes a part of your life and you feel like you’re obligated. And when you start feeling obligated and you start feeling like it’s something you have to do because it’s necessary, like breathing, that’s not a good situation either. It should be something different.”
During Jordin’s appearance on the ‘Today’ show”, the singer chatted with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb and revealed she’s moving on, staying strong and looking forward after her sad split from Jason. According to Hollywood life the singer discussed how she’s coping with the breakup saying,
“I’m good, actually,”
“The funny is that I read this book the other day. Actually, it was yesterday. It said when something unexpected happens in your life or you think something bad is happening, just say “plot twist” and move on.”
