With the NFL season approaching, we’ve been celebrating the return of some of our favorite Haitian-American players, after a summer of watching him train and expecting to see him on the field, we are sad to report Washington Redskins Junior Galette will be out another season.

The Redskins linebacker confirmed via his social network that he will miss a second consecutive season with an Achilles injury. The injury marks the second year in a row that Galette has had to deal with a torn Achilles tendon. During his first training camp with the Redskins in 2015, Galette suffered a torn left Achilles, which caused him to miss the entire 2015 season.

Galette who said he haven’t felt this good and in shape confirmed he tore his right Achilles tendon during football drills on Sunday.

ESPN Reports,

Galette tore his left Achilles the week before the 2015 season opener, costing him all of that season. He had worked his way back from that injury and was supposed to be ready for the start of training camp Thursday so that he could be in position to help Washington this season as a pass-rusher.

It’s been a rough year for Galette. The Saints released him shortly before their 2015 camp was to begin, just as he had recovered from a right pectoral tear. The Redskins signed Galette to a one-year deal in which they received first right of refusal on his next contract. But on the Wednesday before the season opener, he tore his Achilles in practice.

Galette re-signed a one-year deal with the Redskins in the offseason and was optimistic all along about what he could do in 2016. He was held out of spring practices, but all along, the team said he would be ready for camp. He was expected to start opposite Ryan Kerrigan, with second-year Preston Smith serving as the third linebacker.16

Get well soon Junior, praying for a speedy recovery.
