Our Non Profit organization highlight for today is TransforMe Ayiti!
Founded by Haitian-American nurse Jadine Louissaint, her mission is to transform Haiti by equipping the next generation of women leaders and innovators by inspiring young Haitian-American women in their uniqueness and help them to become agents of change for Haiti through faith, education, culture awareness, economic development and entrepreneurship.
What is Transforme Ayiti?
We recognize that “faith without works is dead.”-James 2:17. In order to see the change we desire to see in Haiti, we’ve got to empower the next generation. Children are open to endless possibilities when given the opportunity to let their imaginations run free.
We want to provide an outlet for Haitian girls, living in the United States, to tap into their full potential through a mentoring program. We want to appoint leaders who will encourage, cultivate, and facilitate the participants with emphasis on Christ, life and entrepreneurial skills, and knowledge of Haiti’s history and rich culture. The end goal is to teach the Haitian people and aid them in becoming self-sufficient with their resources.
This mentoring program will operate under the name, YOUnique Academy. YOUnique Academy’s motto is “Embracing, Loving & Celebrating the best YOU every day!” With the “Y” representing Young, “O” representing Overcomers and “U” representing United, it reinforces that every girl is uniquely made. United with other unique individuals, their impact is greater to overcome any obstacles that may present through the journey of life. In order to be effective and see the life-changing results we desire, we propose to take the following steps:
- Provide collaborations and solid partnerships between for profit and non-profit organizations that are willing to help the innovative ideas of the youth come to life.
- Utilize social media channels and the corporation’s website to provide facts, statistics, and other related data on causes, current efforts and solutions to help transform Haiti.
- Include student ambassadors to raise social consciousness about the cause on a local and global level, and will hold fundraising events in order to provide scholarships for current/past participants for their products and business initiatives.
