Live music & historical exhibition in a cultural ambiance
The Haitian Heritage Museum (HHM) will welcome art aficionados, and culture enthusiasts to its First annual “Fête Blanc, Société des Arts.” It will be a white affair that will celebrate HHM’s 10 years in the community and bring the art society together in South Florida’s eclectic art scene on Saturday July 26th.
The fête will continue the celebration of HHM’s decade of cultural enlightenment as an iconic global pillar in the community. In recognition of the summer season, guest will dress himself or herself in cool and fresh white clothing. There will be a showcase of the museum’s latest installation “Toussaint Louverture” the great Haitian hero, which chronicles his epic journey to bringing freedom to Haiti. Attendees will indulge in this exhibition in an ambience rich in Haitian culture and music.
The evening will also introduce the Haitian Heritage Museum’s 3rd annual “Mr. or Ms. May 18th contest winner, ( which would be ME) as Ms. May 18 2014.
All proceeds made from this event will go towards supporting the museum’s cultural programming in the South Florida community through its signature program, e-Ayiti Expose. This program together with the Museum Magnet program provides cultural outreach workshops that have impacted over 10,000 South Florida students by using object-based learning in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Museum Magnet partner schools; North Miami Senior High, North Miami Middle, and W.J. Bryan Elementary.
The Fête Blanc, Société des Arts is open to all attendees for $40 admission in advance or $50 at the door. Admission includes 1-year membership to the Haitian Heritage Museum. Guests will be treated to and light hors d’oeuvres, live music and comedy.
