JetBlue Extends Flight Suspension to Port-au-Prince Until June 2025

MIAMI, FL – JetBlue Airways has extended its suspension of flights to Haiti’s main international airport in Port-au-Prince. Initially set to end on April 30, the suspension will now remain in place until at least June 11, 2025, due to ongoing civil unrest in the country.

As the only U.S. airline offering direct flights between Port-au-Prince and South Florida/New York, JetBlue cited the safety of its passengers and crew as the primary reason for the decision.

“Due to the ongoing civil unrest in Haiti, we have made the decision to suspend all flights to and from the country through at least June 11, 2025,” a JetBlue spokesperson stated. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update our plans as necessary.”

Limited Travel Options & New Developments

The extended suspension coincides with the upcoming expiration of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) banon U.S. commercial and cargo flights to Haiti, which is set to end on March 12. However, Haiti’s capital remains largely inaccessible, as armed groups continue to control key highways.

Meanwhile, Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council has announced that the Antoine Simon Airport in Les Cayes is now prepared to receive international flights after a major runway expansion. This development is expected to help reconnect the country’s southern region, which has been cut off from Port-au-Prince due to escalating violence.

As the situation unfolds, travelers and aid organizations will be closely watching for further updates on flight operations to Haiti.
