Highlight: Grammy Nominated Haitian Singer-Songwriter Katia Cadet

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Katia Cadet, earned her Grammy nod for co-writing the hit tune “911” performed by Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige. Subsequently called upon by A-list producer Salaam Remi to be a part of the writing team for the soundtrack of major motion picture Rush Hour 3, Katia writes and performs the perfect French Jazz tune titled “L’amour Une Aventure”. Born in Haiti and raised in Montreal Canada, this charismatic singer and prolific songwriter is ready to share her multi-cultural background and deliver her first solo album after carefully crafting her musical skills, and working with some of the industries most coveted artists and producers.

Today, the release of her first single and video-clip titled “With You”, hit the Zouk, Caribbean and Afro scene by storm, and marked her introduction to the world as a performing artist. The video has been in heavy rotation on all the major video channels across Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, notably Trace TV, MTV Base, Afro Channel, LC2, TeleSud, Island TV, Vox Africa to name a few, and has been received with raved reviews. “With You” a Zouk-R&B track produced by none other than Kaysha, is off her much anticipated debut album Boundless scheduled to be released in early Spring 2012.

Boundless represents a cultural merge, the breaking of language, genre and cultural barriers, it is an album Katia wishes will unite people, and will continue to widen the definition of Pop music. It’s Pop; it’s R&B; it’s Afro-Caribbean, and if you must put it into one genre category, call it “Pop Urban World”. Featured on the album, are multi-Grammy award winning producer Salaam Remi, known for making hits for Amy Winehouse, Drake and Nas among many others, mega artist and producer Kaysha, and a host of other monster producers at the top of their game. Boundless features 14 songs penned by Katia, in French, English, Creole, Portuguese and Italian over multi genres such as Zouk, Dance Hall, Kompa, Soca-Dance, Roots Rock Reggae, all with a strong R&B fusion.
The vocals are as versatile as the languages and the genres, at times very soft and sensual, and other times, soulful and edgy, but always heartfelt and authentic.

Katia delivers outstanding performances and conveys strong emotion in her journey into her roots, and her passion for getting the whole world to adopt and love Afro-beats is ever relentless. Her dream as a proclaimed ambassador is to bring these rich sounds all the way to the mainstream.
