On Wednesday, August 17, 2016, Haiti-based Sunrise Airways  announced they are planning to launch a host of new flights around the Caribbean from Jamaica.

“Our journey to this point has been long, with some minor turbulence endured along the way, but I’m very pleased to say that we are now, indeed, on final approach to spread our wings to Jamaica this fall,” said Philippe Bayard, President of Sunrise Airways.

Sunrise Airways’ proposed new flights from Jamaica will connect all three of the country’s international airports with destinations in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba.

Sunrise Airways will deploy its flagship ATR 42-320 aircraft on its new Jamaica routes. With newly refurbished cabins, a maximum seating capacity of 46 seats, in-flight service, onboard lavatory, ample overhead space, legroom, and cargo capacity, Sunrise ATR’s are setting a new standard for excellence in Western Caribbean skies.

Sunrise Airways anticipates receiving final clearance from the Jamaican Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) by September 1, 2016 for the launch of its new Jamaica flights during the fall of 2016.
