HCA Global’s Taste of Haiti is a much-anticipated food and cultural festival celebrating Haiti’s culinary and cultural heritage during Haitian Cultural Month. This marquee event is the only major event of its kind specifically celebrating Haiti’s food culture. It is said that the best way to promotes one’s cultural heritage is through food.
The Office of Commissioner Jean Monestime & Miami-Dade District 2, Miami Dade College North Campus in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami, the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the City of North Miami and the Little Haiti Optimist Club are excited to announce this amazing milestone for this 5th Edition of Taste of Haiti.
On Saturday, May 13, 2017, food lovers across South Florida are invited to attend Taste of Haiti. This event will showcase and highlight some of the top culinary professionals and restaurants in the Haitian community. This event will be held at the Miami Dade College North Campus, located at 11380 NW 27th Avenue (lot 2), Miami, FL 33167, admission is FREE and open to the public.
This outdoor event, taking place from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. will include various food vendors displaying creative takes on native dishes as well as activities for the entire family. The top chef Cook-Off return for its 5th Edition with some fierce competitors and cooking demonstrations by celebrity Chef Creole, stars of the hit television series on PBS Taste of Island, chef Irie, Chef Thia and Chef Creig who is the culinary ambassador to Barbados.
Also in attendance will is celebrity Judge Patrick Tardieu, international soccer star and designer of Bogosse, Dj Nicky Mix, the official DJ of the festival for the past 4 years, Haitian Radio & DJ personality Frankie Mixx A lot and many more.
Some of the other activities include the first annual DEKABES 2 on 2 Domino competition, the first annual Griot/Bannan/Griot eating contest, the konpa dance & folklore workshops and so much more.
The event will include entertainment from Haitian bands, 5Lan, Olivier Duret, K.L.M and WOW.
