In an effort to give back and bring the Haitian community together, on Saturday, July 16th L’union Suite, and my Junior Filsaime hosted our edition of #HashtagLunchbag West Palm Beach.
Over 30 Haitian Americans community members, NFL players, rappers got together to make lunches for the homeless at John I. Leonard High School and then distribute some to The Lord’s Place, Burckle Place and Family Campus.
Also in attendance was Haitian-American media maven Karen Civil, Washington Redskins Pierre Garcon, Minnesota Vikings Kenrick Ellis, rapper Ace Hood rapper Lajan Slim, NFL players Sammuel and Emmanuel Lamur.
This was definitely a successful event and a great way to contribute our time to something fun & meaningful while connecting with friends, and other Haitian-Americans in our community.
We even made West Palm Beach and ESPN News.
#HashtagLunchbag is an event that started in L.A. in 2012 by a small group of friends. It has since spread into a nationwide project, and anyone can bring the event to his or her own city.
Thank you so very much to all the supporters and friends who drove and flew in to support the cause. We couldn’t have done it without you.
