Haiti Wins 5 Trophies at International Rally Frontera in the Dominican Republic

From February 17 to 19, 48 Haitians competed in the three-day International Rally Frontera organized by the Dominican army.

The 16th Rally Frontera 4×4 is the main Dominican off-road competition which include a tour that takes participants through the Dominican border with Haiti.

The competition started in Hondo Valle, passing Loma de Saba, Elías Piña, El Calimete, Río Limpio. Heading next to Duvergé, La Descubierta, Aguacate, El Hoyo de Pelempito, with a swim at Playa Cabo Rojo. Organizers Colonels Carlos Chris and Frontal Carran said that more than 95% of the trek was through mountain zones and crossing over rivers.

48 Haitians organized by Meir Vaknin of Pro Sports Haiti packed their all-terrain vehicles (Jeep), two-wheeled motorbikes, four-wheelers (ATV), UTV all-terrain vehicle and traveled to Dominican Republic to take part in the two-day event organized for 16 years by the Dominican Republic.

More than 500 participants from 20 countries were invited to travel between the 250 and 300 km per day ride.
