One of my favorite part of this site and finding old pictures of Haiti. I’m always very fascinated and wondered where and what my parents were doing when the pictures were snapped. How I wished I could place myself in the middle of these snap shots and experience what it was like to live in Haiti back in the 80s. These shots were taken taken in various places in Port-au-Prince, May 1988 by photographer Jürgen Vogt. .
In May of 1988 I had the opportunity to photograph Mr. Leslie Manigat, the President of Haiti. I spent a week photographing in Port au Prince, & one day at the National Palace, with President Manigat his Government at work & also at his home. – Jürgen Vogt.
