Haitian Actress and Hollywood Today Live Co-host Garcelle Beauvais schedule just got busier. It’s been three years since we’ve seen Haitian actress and former fashion model Garcelle Beauvais on the big screen in White House Down, but our girl is making a grand return with Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures.
According to Deadline, Beauvais is the latest actor added to the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the next addition in a long line of film adaptations chronicling the life of everyone’s favorite web-slinger. Details regarding her role have yet to be released but she’s been spotted on set dressed as a teacher.
Beauvais started her career as a model and transitioned to an actress through a breakout role on The Jamie Foxx Show as “Fancy,” “Jamie King’s” love interest. She then went on to NYPD Blue, and starred in TNT’s legal drama Franklin & Bash. In 2013, Beauvais and Foxx teamed up again in feature film White House Down. Over the years she has starred in series such as Grimm, The Mentalist, and Eyes, and in films such as Wild Wild West, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and Bad Company. She currently stars on Disney XD’s Kirby Buckets.
Beauvais is definitely amongst good (and diverse company) as she joins Tom Holland (In the Heart of the Sea) as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny) as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Michael Keaton (Batman) as The Vulture.
It also includes Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Donald Glover (The Martian), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), Kenneth Choi (The People vs. O.J. Simpson), Michael Barbieri (The Dark Tower), Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), Selenis Leyva (Orange is the New Black), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Isabella Amara (The Boss), Jorge Lendeborg, Jr. (Graceland), JJ Totah (Liv and Maddie), Hannibal Buress (30 Rock), Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation), Tyne Daly (Cagney and Lacey) and Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo).
Spider-Man: Homecoming won’t be bringing back Tobey Maguire, their original Peter Parker, as this film will be a total reboot centering on Parker a teen, as he navigates both high school and fighting crime.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
Congrats Garcelle!
