A couple of months ago we reported that The Prestigious Decameron Hotel Group was going to invest in a sea-side resort in Haiti and when it opens, it will become Haiti’s first all-inclusive resort in the modern era.
With only a few more months to go, we have some exclusive pictures from the team on the progress on the Hotel which is scheduled to open November 2015.
Back in March, the Delegation of the prestigious hotel group visited Haiti to finalize the terms of an agreement with the Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Balmir-Villedroin. The delegation was led by the CEO, Lucio Garcia. The all-inclusive resort will be the first since Club Med Haiti closed its doors nearly 20 years ago.
According to HotelChatter,
The new all-inclusive, Royal Club Decameron Indigo, is on the old Club Med property, which is currently operating as the Club Indigo Resort. Colombia-based hotel and resort chain Decameron Group has taken over management and is re-branding the resort with expectations it will open in December 2015.
The property is on Haiti’s Cote des Arcadins, and is about one hour from the airport and Port-au-Prince. The 390-room property includes two adult pools and two children’s pools, a buffet restaurant, two a la carte restaurants, five bars and a spa.
The Decameron Group currently operates resorts in Jamaica, Cape Verde, Colombia, Costa Rica, San Salvador, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Senegal and Marruecos. The company seems to be in expansion mode having just acquired property in the Cornwall Beach area of Jamaica where it plans to expand the Royal Decameron Montego Bay.
