Ayiti’s (Haiti’s) First Endowed Community Foundation Inaugural Gala Kanaval

Kanaval in Ayiti, is a vibrant and cultural expression of music and dance. In honor of the beauty that remains in our beloved Ayiti, the Ayiti Community Trust (A.C.T.) is pleased to present their inaugural ball, Gala Kanaval. This celebration of Ayiti will be hosted on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, at the beautiful Fontainebleau Miami Beach from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The evening will be spent honoring iconic figures such as best selling author, Edwidge Danticat, and entrepreneur, Marc Alain Boucicault. Music from the honorable Haitian Superband, Tabou Combo, who will be celebrating 50 years of extortionary artistry and highlight the gala night with a robust repertoire. The evening will be inspired with a cocktail hour and silent auction of artists such as Edouard Duval-Carrié, Carl Juste, Valerie Pompee, Claudia Apaid and many more; a delectable four-course dinner infused with Haitian flavors; musical delights by Aroze Twoubadou, Rara Lakay, and NSL Danse Ensemble; distinctive live auction items; and non-stop dancing. This gala is sure to redefine your ideas of philanthropy.

Recognizing the significance of Ayiti’s next generation of leaders, A.C.T. is also hosting an 1804 Masquerade Fete kicking off the evening’s official after-party. This segment of the night begins from 11:00 p.m.- 3 a.m at the same venue and will commend the achievements of Ayiti’s emerging pioneers. We are paying tribute to key crusaders such as Wanda Tima, Karen Andre, Sandy Dorsainvil, and Fabrice Dugas.

ACT is Ayiti’s first endowment fund, building on Haiti’s assets and driven by Haitians’ needs locally while providing resources for sustainable solutions. A.C.T. is registered in Ayiti and operates as a grant-making community foundation. It is also registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in the U.S. and has partnered with The Miami Foundation, the largest community foundation serving Miami for more than 50 years. The fund will provide sustainable support to Haitian organizations in Ayiti within three interconnected pillars: environment, civic education, and entrepreneurship. The Ayiti Community Trust is built on thoughtful and responsible leadership, transparency, and accountability. A.C.T. is governed by a robust board that’s made up of prominent Haitians and friends residing in Ayiti, the United States, and Canada.

As indicated by CEO, Pierre Imbert, “ACT is a game changer for Haiti. It’s a philanthropic vehicle that embodies the thoughtful vision of our founding champions whom have a growing understanding of Haiti’s sustainability demands and tackle it with a new strategic approach. This gala is a celebration of this historic alignment for Haiti”.
