Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Shes fluent in French, English, Spanish, German ,Italian and creole of course. She’s also the daughter of Jean Fouchard an anthropologist, writer and former ambassador to Cuba. Ms. Fouchard is the first Haitian to compete in Miss World 1960.

They also had a few stamps made in her honor. Claudinette Fouchard married an German Industrialist on her parents backyard’s Villa in Petionville, Haiti.
And here’s the Claudinette Fouchard stamps, commemorating both her victory as Miss Haiti and the Miss World Sugar Pageant in 1960. After her success in pageantry, Fouchard married and largely left the public eye. In her short time in the spotlight however she made an immense impact on the world’s impression of Haiti.
